GENERAL SCHOOL RULES

  • School hours are from 07h00 - 18h00.  Breakfast is served from 08h00 - 08h30.  Should your child arrive after 08h30, please make sure that they have had breakfast at home.
  • Our toddler activities start from 08h30.  Please make sure your child is at school by 08h30, as it is very disruptive to the child minder as well as the other children when interrupted.  It can also be upsetting for the child who is late, as the others are already settled down.
  • Children must personally be handed over to the responsible caregiver.  Any special instructions are to  be written in your record book, and not verbally communicated.  There are too many distractions, and specific instructions will be forgotten if not written down.
  • Any medication is to be written down in the Medicine Journal.  Each item is to be marked clearly with the child's name, and medication to be written down DAILY.  NO MEDICINE WILL BE GIVEN TO A CHILD IF IT IS NOT ON RECORD!
  • Please ensure that all clothes are clearly marked.  The BABY HOTEL will not be held responsible for any clothes getting mixed up or lost if not marked.
  • NO JEWELLERY OR OTHER VALUABLES are allowed at school.  The BABY HOTEL accepts no liability for the loss or breaking of any such items.
  • NO PERSONAL TOYS are allowed.  We have sufficient toys for each group.  Our toys get sterilized on a weekly basis, and any old or damaged toys are discarded.
  • No child will be allowed to go home with anyone else unless we have been informed.  Identification will be asked for.
  • If a child has been ill during the night or has contracted an infection of any kind, it is your duty to notify us.  If your child is not attending the center on a particular day, please phone between 08h00 and 09h00 to inform us.
  • If your child has been vomiting or has had a runny tummy, he/she may not return to school for 24 hours.
  • Should your child have a temperature of 38° or higher, he/she may not attend the center until the fever has broken.  Should your child develop a temperature of 38° during the day, you will be expected to collect your child.
  • Please make sure that all items i.e. clothes, bottles, cups, dummies etc, are clearly marked.  Shoes need not be worn in the summer months, as bare feet will encourage foot muscle control.

A QUICK GOOD-BYE HELPS US NOT TO CRY

The longer you prolong the drop-off, the worse it is for your child.  Please give him/her a big hug and kiss, reassure that you will be back, and LEAVE PROMPTLY.  The first few days are always difficult, but we will be there with lots of fun and distraction  to calm them and help them settle down.
